In 1970 I finished the Art and Craft School as a black-smith. In the school I was also trained in modeling and engraving, which I appreciate at the knife-making. It is the base on which I am building all my job. Some time I worked in a museum as a restorer, in this time I become fascinated by blades of various kinds. At first I made copies of historic swords. Than I began to do experiments with Damascus steel. In the 90ties I was dominantly a black smith, I made forget gates, fences, lattices and sometimes I made a knife or a sword. I have taken a part in the international black-smith symposium “Hefaiston” , regularly. It  is held on the Helfstyn castle, where my Damascus steels were awarded a couple of times.  In the present  I am doing custom knives as a full time job, my knifes are usually made to orders. For the blades I am using mostly 440c, ATS34, or damasteel, sometimes I use carbon Damascus. I use various woods, antlers, mother of pearl or ivories for the handles. I can design and manufacture a knife according to the wish of the customer. I do engravings and carving for other knife makers ,too. I also make Damascus blades from chains of a chain saw. I really enjoy carving miniature animals. That’s why for me are inspirative the works of Charles Roulin and of my friend Arpad Bojtos. My prices starts from $200 for chains-Damascus knives and from $2000 for carved and engraved knives, it depends on the elaboration of work and materials.
